Cerah the Cat

On July 31, 2000, the unthinkable happened. I came home from work to find that Cerah had become very ill.  She was having severe difficulty in breathing. I brought her to the vet.  They did several tests to try and find out what was wrong.  She had fluid in her chest wall and her lung had collapsed.  I was told that they could try to help her, but it would only prolong her life a few weeks, but she would not be able to run and play as she always did. I could not bear to have her suffer.  Quantity of life is not as important as the quality of life.  So, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life.  She died on August 1, 2000 in the company of loved ones with a smile on her face and love in her eyes. Her short life was one that touched me to the core each and every day.  She would have been 2 years old on October 10, 2000. My heart is in pieces that she is no longer in my life, however, someone once told me that no one is ever really gone if you share the memories. So, let me share with you. She was a good cat who had a lot of love in her heart. She could bring a smile to my face at every moment of the day, even when she was getting into her antics. I still can not look up above the cabinets in a kitchen and not smile and think of how she used to hide there, playing peek-a-boo.   I was truly blessed to have known her and I would do it all over again if I had the chance. I will miss her terribly but I will always remember the happiness she brought to my life and I will feel her love in my heart forever.

The pictures here are the final set of pictures that I will post of Cerah. They are a collection of pictures from when I first brought her home and from a few months before she died. I hope that you will enjoy the memories that they hold as much as I will always cherish them. I want to thank all of you who sent comments on how cute she is in all the pictures and yes, she did use her cuteness for good instead of evil.
